Upcycled Leg Warmers

I felt like being creative after work today and I have been wanting to make these leg warmers for a long time. Also need an excuse to use the new Serger we got for Christmas... Still getting the hang of it serging much harder than plain old sewing! Heres a start to finish picture.

For those of you who don't know upcycling is where you take something old and make it something new and better!

For instance my hoodie was old and headed to goodwill but now its an awesome pair of leg warmers.

Knit girl knit!

So I took these pictures about a year ago and then proceeded to lose the file while switching between external hard drives. A few weeks ago I was looking through all of our picture files to create a photo album for my graduation party and I found them so here they are :) I will hopefully be taking pictures of all of my new knitting sometime in the next month and I plan on actually starting to post often!

A little dabbling in photography..

My wonderful boyfriend brought me some yellow roses the other day (along with brownie mix pudding.. can I just say he's the best??!). I had some fun photographing them (the flowers.. not the pudding) & editing the photos. The results turned out better than I expected!!!

Knitting Like Crazy!!

All through fall I have been knitting away and here are pictures and descriptions of the final pieces.

Hounds-tooth bag designed by Isabella Luzader

I made this bag in 2 halves, using fair isle for the hounds-tooth pattern. I left live stitches at the top of each corner of the halves & then sewed the sides together up to those stitches. I picked up the live stitches and knit them to make the strap. I grafted them on to the other set of live stitches once the strap was long enough.

Poncho!

Hey everyone (anyone?)
I finished my poncho a few months ago and am just now getting around to blogging about it :)
I knitted all the squares and ironed/blocked them. Then i wove in the ends and sewed them together. Here are some pictures->>

I love love love the poncho. It was a lot of work but now its a piece of art!

First post, new logo & poncho design!

So this is my first new post since Ive decided to redo my blog and start fresh. I Have a lot of new things to share! First of all is my new name for my blog/buisiness wich im sure youve already seen at the top of the page. Uniquely Izzy! Second of all is my new logo for my new blog/buisiness (can i call it that yet? okay so maybe its a buisiness in the works). Its the background right now but heres a better picture of it->

What do you think? Leave me comments I want feedback :] The logo originally started out as a drawing because i needed I picture for my new etsy store (I havent finished setting it up yet when I do I will link it). I then scanned it into my computer and used a photo editing program to make it better. Heres the original->

Ive finally figured out that I want to go to art/fashion school. I love knitting and i Love designing things. So I want to combine those. I have 2 years left of high school to really prepare myself & work towards that goal. I feel so inspired by everything! And I'm extremely happy with the fact that homeschooling allows me to do things that I wouldn't be able to do regularly. I was talking to a fellow homeschooler earlier who has been to school and back and he agrees that it leaves room for much more creativity. It also gives you a more relaxed and free attitude. So anyways back to knitting!

I have been working on a new poncho pattern that involves knitting lots of 4x4 inch squares and lots of sewing together. Ive had a lot of fun messing around with different techniques to make the squares. Lacework, dropped stitches, cables & felting are just a few. Here are some pictures.

That last picture is of the half of the poncho I've completed. I had to take the pictures in a my makeshift photo studio (A white sheet thrown over a couch ha ha).
